Alfredo “Pete” Flores, born on January 23, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 in Staten Island, where he had most recently resided. Alfredo was a beloved figure known for his warm heart and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. E cherished his time spent exploring new culinary delights and enjoyed watching movies, particularly wrestling and Chicago PD. A true foodie at heart, Alfredo had a special love for shrimp and took great joy in discovering new restaurants. He was a passionate fan of baseball and often wore his favorite Yankees and Raiders apparel with pride. Alfredo had an unwavering love for animals, particularly his dog Gunner and his cats Ryu and Starr, who brought him immense joy. He found great solace in the beauty of Puerto Rico, which he considered his favorite place in the world. Music was also a significant part of his life, with a fondness for artists like Marc Anthony and Ozuna. Professionally, Alfredo made a name of himself as a doorman, where his friendly demeanor and outgoing nature created lasting connections with those around him. He was particularly proud of his battle against prostate cancer, emerging victorious and inspiring many with his resilience. He is survived by his loving spouse, Christina Sotomayor, and his stepson, Deion. Alfredo is also remember by his close family members, Jesus, Otillio, Milta, Mark, Wandermar, John, Richard, Denise, Heriberto, Midgalia and Lily. His life motto, “God please make it a good day,” reflects his positive outlook and the joy he sought daily. Alfredo Flores will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him, remembered not only for his infectious smile and kind heart but also for his selflessness, exemplified by his willingness to give the shirt off his back to those in need. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday.
