I, also from Brooklyn and a math teacher, felt that Burt was a kindred spirit. I’ll miss our conversations.
At Saltaire, he fixed my stained glass jewelry box and Tiffany lamp. Every time he and Geri came to my house, he would make sure that they were still in tact and that I was using them.
A bike ride to Geri and Burt’s was always a treat for my grandchildren. Burt would instruct them in the art of stained glassmaking and Geri would give them cookies. I miss those trips, and was hoping to have them with my great nieces. I guess we’ll just have to stop by for cookies and to view the glass.
